Day 46:

Day 47:

Day 48:
This place is called movie madness and it is amazing! it is first of all HUGE. They have every cool movie you could ever dream of and even ones you had no idea existed. It's also a big movie museum with TON of movie memorabilia. All of the staff are super super movie nerds! not stupid teenagers who have no idea what you are talking about. And they organize the movies by directors, foreign language, and hollywood actors! I could spend all day in here just browsing.

Day 49:
Jason and I went night shooting on the hawthorne bridge. I haven't gotten around to editing the photo yet, but I WILL!

Day 53:
So Jason got off work early today and we decided on the way home to stop off the road and take photos at this awesome little natural pond/waterhole/marsh type thingy just sitting on the side of the street!!

So that's it for now! This whole posting once a week thing seems to be working out nicely for me. I know a couple of the photos are just of the sky but those are basically the days I work ALL day and can't really take a picture of anything else. At least it's pretty! Jason and I are going to be getting internet soon so when we do I'll post more often and once summer rolls around you can bet you'll have AMAZING photos a lot more often! Oh! and we're almost ALMOST finished with the apartment to where I would feel confident enough posting pictures of it! (For you Jo! [=...) just a couple more pieces of furniture to purchase. Our bedroom I don't think will be finished for quite some time though. But living room, bathroom, and kitchen are basically done! So that's just an update on what's been going on!

Happy Valentines Day!--Day 45

So Jason and I decided in honor of valentines day we would make an attempt to go to as many of the pink buildings in Portland as we could. The first place we hit was this completely amazing vintage shop right down the road from us. It was so amazing in there it took up most of our day. By the time we got to VooDoo Doughnuts it was dark and I couldn't take a picture of the pink building. And by that time it was too late to go to any other pink buildings because we had dinner plans! So our attempt of visiting every pink building in Portland may have been a little over zealous, but it was a fun day none the less.

Last Week--Day 38-44

Day 38
In honor of my grandmothers last day here we went to this Thai restaurant called pok-pok. I had the GREATEST curry of my life.
photo.JPG

Day 39
This is one of my clients BEAUTIFUL backyard! In the spring/summer she said it looks even better! And the pond has a waterfall and fountain in it!
photo.JPG

Day 40
Jason and I went and ate brunch at this French crepe and bistro right down the street from our house and OH MY GOODNESS. It was soooo good. I told Jason we are going to eat there everyday and get all kinds of fat and I won't even care!
photo.JPG

Day 41
We recently became quite the coupon clippers and had I known we would be saving so much money I would have started doing it a Long time ago! We got NINE paper bags completely full to capacity of groceries from fred Meyer, not walmart, not winco, and not food for less...Fred Meyer. For 200 dollars! Woo hoo coupons!
photo.JPG

Day 42
Jason pulled an eyelash off of my face and blew it to make a wish. Yeah...haha
photo.JPG

Day 43
I just thought this was really cool!
photo.JPG

Day 44
So my brother spent all of his money on a build a bear for his girlfriend and was upset he didn't have any left over to get her any flowers. So I headed over and we spent the whole night making paper flowers for her. They actually turned out really good! Here's the one I made for my mom:

Happy Birthday Jo!!--Day 37

Happy Happy Birthday Jo!!
I tried to do the same thing I did with Dusty's birthday and try to take a photo that would symbolize something you liked and this was the only thing I could really think of that would still make a kind of cool photo! This is one of the community gardens in portland. It's on belmont and 20th and is HUGE! It takes up the whole block! It's not extremely beautiful right now because it's winter still but it's still pretty awesome! So happy birthday from Portland! Hurry up and get here and I can SHOW you all the awesome things you'll love!

Catching up and Fixing Mistakes...

So apparently I posted my day 31 on the wrong blog! haha I put it on my photography blog by accident so I have deleted it from there and posted it here:

"BooYah!!!--Day 31
Tonight has been a good night! Jason came home and we went to this awesome sushi place that serves sushi pm a conveyor belt. You can special order if you want but most people just grab what they want right off the line. They charge you based on the color of the plate you choose and they're all pretty cheap! So it's awesome because you pay a little less than you would at a normal sushi place, get the same amount of food but you get to try a bunch of different ones. Each plate has about three pieces on it and you pay an average of 2 dollars a plate. So for the same price you get a roll of sushi from a regular place you get to try three different kinds here! Plus! If you go Sunday-Thursday from 6pm-closing it's just a dollar a plate! AMAZING! We got a ton of sushi for 12 dollars!! New favorite place?? ...I think so!
So here is my love, returned from his long trip away and stuffing his face with all the sushi his little heart (and stomach) can contain!

And here is my Day 32 picture of Dinah I told you about!

Day 35 Was my second 12 hour shift. 12 hour shifts can get kind of boring during hours where my clients are asleep. So this is what I've been working on!
photo.JPG

Day 36 was Braiden's birthday party. I got a ton of cute pictures of little kids (which isn't hard to do) but what Is hard to do is choose my favorites!

Here is my bbeeaauuutttiifffullll grandmother!

12 hour days are not my friend!--Day 35

Twelve hour work days lead to lots of spare time!
photo.JPG

Catching Up!--Day 33&34...Bbuuuttt...Still no Day 32

So I still haven't gotten to the Internet to upload the photo from day 32. But I promise you're not missing much, just a photo of Dinah haha. But I'm off tomorrow so I'll post it then I promise!
But here are my photos for day 33--
Jason and I went to this bakery/coffee/sandwich shop called sweetpea. They make awesome vegan cupcakes and cakes!

Day 34--
About two weeks ago we bought a 600 dollar couch and thanks to EVIL kitties who like to claw things this is what it has looked like the whole time until we find some time to buy them soft paws.

UPDATE

So I don't want you to think I have completely forgotten about you. For the past three days I have still taken my daily photos just haven't been able to get around to posting them. Work has been KILLING me and there just isn't that much time left in the day to do so. So, I'm going to be changing my rules around a little bit. Maybe permanently, maybe temporarily, but I promise I will continue to take a photo a day however I cannot promise I will get around to posting them EVERY SINGLE DAY. I will try to and when blogger comes out with an app I probably will go back to posting everyday. Or when Jason and I finally get around to getting Internet I probably will then too. But for now I will attempt to post everyday or even every other day but I promise I will atleast do one every Friday with my weeks worth of photos. I also can't promise I'll continue posting a story of my day. It might start getting to be just a photo and only stories on interesting days haha.

Nice day of relaxing!--Day 32

So today was a nIce day of just hanging out and relaxing. It was nice not only to just spend quality time with Jason but because I have been working 14 days straight so I needed some time to just relax. We did a couple little things. Made breakfast, went and bought my baby cousins birthday present at this cute little kids boutique, picked up my grandma from the airport, played th kinect (which is AWESOME!), and did some grocery shopping. I took a picture with my new camera to show Jason the quality and functions of the camera but I didn't go anywhere with wifi to upload the photo so just know I did take my photo for today and I will be posting it tomorrow along with my photo for tomorrow.

Hunter and Lacie--Day 30

Today Hunter, Lacie, and myself went to laurelhurst park right down the road from my house to go "test" the new camera out. We only stayed out for about an hour because I had to be at work later that afternoon. Luckily, (since we live in portland) we have overcast skies here the majority of the time. However, for the past week or so it's been nice and sunny which I was worried about since we didn't get as early of a start as I had originally wanted. Much to my surprise...the day we decide to go phototaking is the ONE day it is actually overcast all this week and for the next week supposedly. Granted, before you judge my new photos keep in mind I JUST got this new camera and am still testing it out and learning the odds and ins. I already love it though it does so many amazing things my canon didn't and is so much more photographer friendly and convenient. So expect the photos to only get better from here but I think these turned out pretty good as well. So this is my photo of the day. To see the rest from the "shoot" please go to my photography blog at:

Horraaayyy!!--Day 28

This has officially just become the happiest day of my entire almost two weeks Jason has been gone and my dad left. It started out a whatever day. Still upset about yesterday, still not feeling 100%, and working a 12 hour shift to top it off. I called around frantically yesterday after I discovered my camera wasn't coming in because of my zip code on the package being ONE number off. I was heartbroken when I found out and lost all hope of seeing it within the next week and a half. So I called the actual post office that delivers my mail since the 1.800 people weren't very helpful. I got this REALLY nice guy that took down all my information researched the tracking number and said he was going to do some investigation and see if he could figure something out. I felt a little better knowing that I could tell he was sincere and honestly cared. However, I still didn't have much hope. If what the lady on the 1.800 line told me was true my package was already on it's way back to sc. So I go to work at 8am and I drive home at 8pm and what do I see on my mailbox?!? This...
photo.JPG

Oh Happy Day! The guy at the post office actually came through. It's these little things I appreciate about my new home. Everyone is just so nice and so 100% willing to bend over backwards to help someone out. I think this is the only place I've been to where people will stop and just talk to you or help you in any way they can. It's nice to know there are still good people in this world and not everyone has turned their back on chivalry.

Kind of a crummy day--Day 27

Something is messing with my sinuses, I'm exhausted from all this work I've been doing, and the post office jipped me out of my wonderful camera my very loving grandfather worked so hard to send me! So I'm going to make this post short. This is a picture (of a picture) of one of my clients wedding days. I just think she was so beautiful and simple and elegant I can't help but be drawn in. I wish I were around during those times. When women were actually well...women.

Today is our good friend Dusty's birthday! So I took a special picture to say...
"Happy Birthday Dusty!

...wish you guys were here!"

Kiss my foot!!--Day 21

Pardon the expression! It is something one of my clients said to me today in place of "kiss my ass" and I found it so humorous I decided I was going to use it at some point throughout the day!

So...I want to know which deedeedee weatherman said we were going to have sunshine today! I'm slowly realizing why people in Portland don't listen to the weather report!

Overload!!--Day 20

So today was a work overload! Started at 830 and didn't end until 630! So I didn't have much time to plan out a picture to take so I snapped this one in between clients.

So this is the Hawthorne theatre...it's where all the cool hipsters go to see all the cool bands!
Honestly though, it's a really cool place and they're always having really cool bands come through.

Waffles!--Day 19

So today after my first shift at work I met my aunt and family at cup and saucer for lunch. I've been there a couple times now and really enjoy it! The cafe is right next to this really cool vintage shop (which I have yet to go into yet) and this place called waffle window, which is exactly what the name implies. A wall where you get waffles. It's a little window in the side of this brick building and you walk up to it and order a waffle. Pretty cool! I haven't gone yet but everytime I drive by it there is someone standing outside getting a waffles. Rain or shine. So next time I drive by it I am getting out walking to the hole in the wall and ordering a waffle!

sad day--Day 18

Today was a sad day for me. I said goodbye to my dad and jason too! Then I had to drive home by myself and i'm going to be alone in my home for two weeks!

I start back work tomorrow from my 5 days off when my dad was here so I'm going to have to cut this post short and get some sleep.

here's a picture I tried to snap of jason on his way to security:

Final Day--Day 17

So today is the last day my dad is in town and the last day jason is technically here for two weeks. So we went to the zoo and hung out most of the day. I had never been to the portland zoo but it actually surpassed my expectations. It was really nice and actually pretty big!
here are some of my shots from the zoo:

Boring day--Day 16

So we didn't get to go snowboarding today. We lounged around the house and watched movies all afternoon and night, made dinner, and just hung out. It was boring but kind of nice none the less. It's just nice to spend time with my dad. So I didn't really have a photo to share so I just snapped one real quick of the bathroom paint. Im going to have to really think long and hard about how I'm going to photograph the bathroom and show it to you guys when it's all cleaned up because it's so small in there it's hard to get the right angles. But in this photo at least you can see the paint (:

Rain, Rain--Day 15

So today we arrived at Mt. Hood to find nothing but rain. When I say rain, I mean RAIN. Not the light little mist drizzle we get in portland all day this was actual RAIN. So none of us (except hardcore little hunter) went snowboarding tonight. We're going to try to wait it out and even though the storm is suppose to be here all weekend hope it passes some over the night and it might be a little more clear tomorrow or at least be that light drizzle i've grown so accustom too.

So Jason and I went out for about ten minutes and snapped some quick photos it was hard because I didn't want my camera to get wet.

Downtown--Day 14

Today we went down to the waterfront again and walked around pioneer square. We've been getting a storm in so it's been pretty gloomy for the past couple of days but it's been great temperature wise. We had a lot of fun and just hung out walking around downtown! Tomorrow we're going snowboarding so be prepared for some nice photos! It'll be a breath of fresh air from all these cell phone snap shots!
