Hunter and Lacie--Day 30

Today Hunter, Lacie, and myself went to laurelhurst park right down the road from my house to go "test" the new camera out. We only stayed out for about an hour because I had to be at work later that afternoon. Luckily, (since we live in portland) we have overcast skies here the majority of the time. However, for the past week or so it's been nice and sunny which I was worried about since we didn't get as early of a start as I had originally wanted. Much to my surprise...the day we decide to go phototaking is the ONE day it is actually overcast all this week and for the next week supposedly. Granted, before you judge my new photos keep in mind I JUST got this new camera and am still testing it out and learning the odds and ins. I already love it though it does so many amazing things my canon didn't and is so much more photographer friendly and convenient. So expect the photos to only get better from here but I think these turned out pretty good as well. So this is my photo of the day. Horraaayyy!!--Day 28

This has officially just become the happiest day of my entire almost two weeks Jason has been gone and my dad left. It started out a whatever day. Still upset about yesterday, still not feeling 100%, and working a 12 hour shift to top it off. I called around frantically yesterday after I discovered my camera wasn't coming in because of my zip code on the package being ONE number off. I was heartbroken when I found out and lost all hope of seeing it within the next week and a half. So I called the actual post office that delivers my mail since the 1.800 people weren't very helpful. I got this REALLY nice guy that took down all my information researched the tracking number and said he was going to do some investigation and see if he could figure something out. I felt a little better knowing that I could tell he was sincere and honestly cared. However, I still didn't have much hope. If what the lady on the 1.800 line told me was true my package was already on it's way back to sc. So I go to work at 8am and I drive home at 8pm and what do I see on my mailbox?!? This...

Oh Happy Day! The guy at the post office actually came through. It's these little things I appreciate about my new home. Everyone is just so nice and so 100% willing to bend over backwards to help someone out. I think this is the only place I've been to where people will stop and just talk to you or help you in any way they can. It's nice to know there are still good people in this world and not everyone has turned their back on chivalry.

Kind of a crummy day--Day 27

Something is messing with my sinuses, I'm exhausted from all this work I've been doing, and the post office jipped me out of my wonderful camera my very loving grandfather worked so hard to send me! So I'm going to make this post short. This is a picture (of a picture) of one of my clients wedding days. I just think she was so beautiful and simple and elegant I can't help but be drawn in. I wish I were around during those times. When women were actually well...women.
